My previous post was about a cruise that David and I had taken just before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving Day, we docked and I rented a car and headed to Royal Palm Beach to meet up with my Mom. My grandmother, Nita, lives there and it had been many many years since I had seen her. I was feeling excited yet nervous. But, everything went so well! We were there on her 90th birthday and my birthday was the following day so we celebrated together 🙂 She shared old photos with me, old jewelry, memories and many stories. Being there with her during a holiday that is all about family was more than I could have asked for.
I brought my camera along and did a little photo shoot of her. I had done the same thing with my dad’s mom a few years ago and it was so much fun! Like my dad’s mom, Nita had hesitated at first but I know she secretly loved it! I’m so glad I could do this with both of my grandmothers. The memories of these shoots are ones I cherish and my family and I love the pictures not just now, but for many years to come. One of the many reasons why I love photography 🙂
