Our friends, Lauren and Jonathan are ENGAGED! I have photographed proposals for clients, but when I go to “hang out” with some friends, camera in hand…it’s a whole different set of nerves because you feel a little bit like a spy, working from the inside yet out in the open! You’re trying to act natural and say all the right things so she doesn’t get suspicious.
When Jonathan reached out to me about capturing his proposal to Lauren, I was super excited! Yet, you have to show up like it’s just like any other double date….ready to capture photograph this huge moment. It’s a huge compliment when my friends ask me to capture something that important for them.
Jonathan wanted to propose to Lauren on top of the Skyview Atlanta Ferris Wheel because it is a part of their story together. When they first met, it was in line at a ferris wheel in college. They both needed a partner to ride with, so as they are standing in line, they decide that they will ride together. Well, Lauren’s friends walked up and wanted to steal her away so Jonathan and Lauren agreed that they would ride together another time. An “I owe you.” They’ve been dating for years now and never took that ride together. They tried, but each time after that a ferris wheel was broken down, closed, or something else that would prevent them from riding. Jonathan wanted this ferris wheel ride to be one that they would remember forever. As the cart was approaching the top of the city, Jonathan pulled a beautiful diamond ring out of his jacket and turned to Lauren and popped the question! I think it’s safe to say that this ride was worth the wait 🙂
Congratulations Lauren and Jonathan! We are SO SO happy for you and can’t wait for the wedding!
