Things at Abby Breaux Photography may look a little different. Well, A WHOLE LOT different actually!
As a photographer, I have spent so much time over the last few years developing a good portfolio that I didn’t spend time updating my business brand…until now! My first logo was developed in college during my graphic design class. It worked perfectly for me then, but I’ve grown and my business has too! Yay for growth!
Fall has been the PERFECT time to roll out a new brand. It’s my all time favorite season and it represents so many things that my new brand can relate to such as, change, new beginnings, and the fall of old ways.
This process started when I enlisted the help of two photographers through coaching sessions. After all, what better way to learn than those who are in your industry? Community over competition 🙂
Kristy Dickerson helped answer a lot of my questions about workflow, family life, and many more things! Then she said, “have you thought about a new logo?” I thought, no I haven’t and I left the session thinking about nothing but a new brand for 2 days. I had so much on my mind about my photography business that I had not thought about a new logo before. And honestly, it feels a little sad to let go of something doesn’t it? Come on, we all have clothes in our closet that we can’t seem to say goodbye to right? Well, that was me and my previous logo. Then, I had a session with Natalie Franke Photography who told me my work is awesome, but that my website did not match my personality. So, there it was. The confirmation that something new was the right step. These two women have my best interest at heart and I am SO grateful for their candor because I don’t think I’d be in this awesome spot I am in right now without them.
I reached out to Jenny Grumbling with Grace + Gallant Design for help with my logo. It’s funny how timing can be EVERYTHING. Jenny responded back and told me that she and Kristy Dickerson were holding an all day branding workshop called, Start Kickin’ Booty on September 18, 2015. It included a logo design, branding and marketing presentation, the tools to build a whole new website and lot of coffee 😛 Jenny would provide her graphic design services and Kristy would offer her finance/business skills. So, I sat on the idea for a day and got really excited about it. It was a no brainer. I signed up and not only worked on a new brand with them, but had a great time doing so!
I’m so excited to FINALLY introduce this new brand to my past clients, current clients, new clients, family and friends! I say “finally” because it has been a lot of hard work, but I wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to my friends and family for giving me their opinions after each logo sketch before I finally chose the perfect one. And to Jenny and Kristy, I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you two. I can’t say thank you enough and not just for providing the services and tools to build a better brand, but for ultimately being such a great support team and cheering my business on in the awesome enthusiastic way that you two do!
Thank you for taking a peek at my branding journey and for reading my very first blog post on my new website! And of course, I can’t let you go without sharing some images with you!
The biggest change comes from the design of the two websites. BEFORE and AFTER Website Design
