Hey, I'm Abby Byrd! Previously known as Abby Breaux. I got married to my man of eight years in fall of 2017.  In that same year, we also got our first home together near the North Georgia mountains. This past March, we expanded our family by four feet and adopted our dog, Bailey!

When I am not hanging out with my couples at their weddings, you can find me at the "Byrd's Nest" snuggled up in the fuzziest blanket and coziest socks. I have a lot of favorite shows including 90's throwbacks, Friends and Frasier or more current shows like This Is Us, Grey's Anatomy and anything on HGTV.  You can also find me at Target or Kirklands browsing home decor items for our nest. Ever since we bought our home and cosmetically renovated it right before our wedding (not recommended simultaneously) I have really enjoyed decorating our space.  When I'm not being a homebody, I absolutely love traveling and exploring new places. I have lived overseas in France and England and can't get enough stamps in my passport.

I was in your shoes not too long ago, so I know how you're feeling! I want to share in your excitement, celebrate your wedding wins and help you with your struggles. There are many moving parts when it comes to planning a wedding so I invite you to ask any questions (photography related or not). I'm here as your friend and your wedding photographer. As my husband, David, famously says "I got you!"

IT's NICE TO MEET YOU

Where do I even begin?! Abby is AMAZING and SO talented! She is so much fun, so patient, and makes you feel absolutely amazing on your wedding day! Her organization was so impressive to me, and she truly accomplished everything we asked of her on our big day! I am thrilled and honored to suggest her to every bride-to-be that I come across in the future! We will definitely be using her for photos in the future!

I'm a fan of the book, The 5 Love Languages. My love languages are Physical Touch and Words of Affirmation. So, expect a high five or two and a hug after our sessions together! I believe that handwritten notes will never go out of style. They mean so much to me. I have a bulletin board in my office with each letter I've received from my couples!

TACO TUESDAY

If it's Tuesday, you can bet I'm cooking tacos at home with my hubby! It became a fast tradition when we started living together. My dad even spoke about it during his speech at our wedding. We even have a taco ornament for our Christmas tree and a few shirts...it's our thing and we love it! Love it too? Come on over for dinner!

When I was eleven years old, my dad's company moved us to Paris, France for almost three years. We traveled to thirteen different countries while we were there. I was bit by the travel bug and it's an itch that hasn't gone away since. When I was in college, I studied photography abroad for one year in Plymouth, England. I'm also a Sagittarius- the archer and traveler of the zodiac. So, where's the next adventure?!

This is David, my hubby! We absolutely love quality time at the Byrd's Nest and prefer cuddling up to a movie at home than going to the theater. However, we love traveling together! David is the yin my yang. He is an engineer and the official problem solver of our household. We've been together for 9 years and married for 1.5 years.

My hubby

This is Bailey Rae Byrd! Bailey is a 2-year-old Spoodle (Brittany Spaniel Poodle) She loves cuddling, chewing on her stuffed animal “Moose,” long walks with lots of sniffing, jumping high in the air for bees and hanging out on the couch with Mom & Dad. She has brought us so much joy and her presence in our lives is simply “meant to be.” We brought her home on March 16, 2019. You can follow her  adventures on insta at thedailymsbailey.

When we bought our first home in 2017, every square inch had to be painted. Bathroom floors were replaced. But, as the dust settled, I began to move on to my favorite part. Decorating! Decorating has quickly become another creative outlet for me. And since I'm here working all day, I think it's important to make a space visually enjoyable. My favorite designer? Joanna Gaines, of course!

WEDDING WIRE COUPLE'S CHOICE 2017 & 2019

the moment

Living in Paris for three years influenced my love of art and culture. It started with journaling and then I picked up a camera. Both of these forms tell stories but, for me, photography told stories in such an emotional and visual way. I used to think that Paris is where photography found me, but as I get older and look back on my childhood, I realize that taking pictures started at an even younger age for me (like, disposable camera young) and that was because of my mom and my dad. My dad enjoyed photography too and gave me my very first camera. A film camera! My mom was very involved in my childhood and always had a camera at my special events. She was on the yearbook staff taking pictures at my elementary school and preserved many memories for our family.  My mom, my sister and I have always shared an interest in astrology. While receiving a reading at a psychic fair, the reader told me that she could see a close relationship with my mom and how much support she has given me.

My Why

Surrounding that bond, she told me she could see many hummingbirds floating around us. I will always remember that she told me that. Hummingbirds frequently visit my mom’s Georgia front porch where she loves to watch them gracefully hover around the feeder as she drinks her coffee. Hummingbirds are seen as healers and bringers of love and joy. They are a reminder to enjoy life’s simple pleasures and celebrate the joy of everyday. Their beauty and delicacy reminds us that we must be more present to recognize all that life has to offer...perhaps on southern front porches with a coffee in hand. It is my hope that my photography helps my couples and their families hover in the love and joy of life's simple moments.
